Large full glass
The shadow ducks are here for their daily swim-by. One is missing from a week ago, an eagle shore lunch, no doubt, but a healthy mallard family growing well together.
I look over the lake fondly and remember university days when studies finished in April. Summer jobs lasted for four months, until classes resumed in September. By this time, the beginning of July, summer was half over.
As a school teacher, I had just finished the academic year, and summer was only beginning as July blossomed.
It’s so hard now, retired, to know if the glass is half empty or half full based on those memories.
Observing the ducks and the beauties of sunset at the lake I think the memories are astonishingly wonderful and the glass must be very large and full to the brim.
