With indoor capacity limits scheduled to be lifted across the province at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1st, the Municipality of Sioux Lookout advised that there will be exceptions at the Sioux Lookout Recreation Centre and Sioux Lookout Memorial Arena.
The Municipality advised that, “At the strong recommendation of the Northwestern Health Unit, capacity limits for spectator areas of the Recreation Centre and Arena, including the Fitness Centre, will remain at 50 percent. However, proof of vaccination will no longer be required.”
“With our region still experiencing positivity rates much higher than the rest of Ontario, we believe this is the right move to protect everyone’s health and safety,” said Recreation and Culture Manager, Rony Chakraborty in a Feb. 28 media release.
The Municipality further advised that Ontario’s mask mandate remains in place, so all visitors will still be required to wear a mask when entering Municipal facilities, including the Municipal Office.
“We remind everyone to continue practicing physical distancing, wearing your mask, and washing your hands frequently to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the community,” the Municipality concluded.
