A COVID-19 outbreak, announced on February 14, has been declared over at the William. A George Extended Care Facility as of March 4.
Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre, which operates the 21-be long-term care facility, advised that visitation limits have now been lifted.
“SLMHC is still urging visitors to refrain from visiting our facilities if you are feeling unwell and experiencing symptoms such as fever, shortness of breath, cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea. Please do not visit until you have fully recovered.”
SLMHC also stated in a March 4 news release, “If you are in need of medical care, for the previously listed symptoms or for other health care needs, SLMHC’s Emergency Department is open 24/7.
“If you are unsure whether you have an emergency, you can seek health-related advice from a Registered Nurse 24/7 by calling Health Connect Ontario (former Telehealth Ontario). Call 811 or visit health811.ontario.ca.”
