Dick’s Hideaway:
New summer ritual
Dick MacKenzie - www.dickshideaway.com
I think these chili peppers will warm my summer memories all winter long.
They grew on delicate plants and added beauty to the days of leisure in the sun on the deck looking over the lake.
I stir them daily, in their big cardboard box in the basement, running my hands gently through and tossing them up and around, like tousling hair on the head of a favorite nephew.
I love growing tomatoes. Always will. But planting a few pepper plants and enjoying their pretty fruits may become an exquisite ritual.
