Smoke

The joys of autumn have captured us. Smoky barbeques and cheerful bonfires in the Palace have happied our hearts.

Visitors this week were surprised when our fire restrictions were lifted Thursday. None were as surprised and thrilled as I was, though. Within an hour of the announcement we had flames in the firepit and fanned them until we went to bed after full dark that night.

It was the first fire allowed since June. The treat was terrific. We came home reeking of campfire smoke smell. Happy.
