The cigar and a hot pepper

Sitting in the shade this morning, looking out at the heat, taste testing the first hot pepper this year from my garden, and staring with some affection at the butt of what had been a pretty good morning cigar.
Seemed like there should be a good story there somewhere, so I propped up the stub, balanced the pepper stem on top, then sat and waited for the story to unfold.
After an hour without a story inspiration I finally admitted it looked damn silly and gave up on being smitten with a magic tale, and pushed it away. "Looks like a cigar butt with a hot pepper where its head oughta be..."
