Dick's Hideaway
The Great Thaw has begun
Dick MacKenzie
The early morning reddish-sky view from my back door aligned well with the forecast for the day. After the breathlessly beautiful beginning, clouds came and stayed. The wind found its voice. Showers still threatened.
Snow on the lake ice turned gray and mottled during the afternoon. Temperature rose to 9 degrees - a few warmer than predicted. Snow on the shore continued to disappear, slowly but steadily, showing sand and stones unseen for months.
The great thaw is under way. The universe, seen from my front porch, is unfolding just as it should.
