My favorite ice auger went missing in October. I searched before ice up in the fall to position it at camp for the coming winter. Hot tub needs it.
Basement search came up empty. It has a special summer resting place in town but wasn't there when I looked two months ago.
At camp this weekend I turned everything upside down and inside out, including digging out a 12 foot step ladder from the back 40 snow field to check the attic where I haven't stored anything for 10 years.
A last ditch peek this afternoon in town, at the regular summer resting spot which I had looked at a hundred times, showed Green Hornet grinning at me, jumping to go to camp.
And we're here. Happy to be reunited and ready to grate and punch through the ice. Hot tub happiness on the horizon.
