Drug investigation in Sioux Lookout results in multiple charges against two individuals

Two people are facing multiple charges after a search warrant was executed at a residence in Sioux Lookout last week.
Police shared in a June 23 media release, “On June 21, 2023, members of the Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment; Sioux Lookout, Dryden, Ignace, and Kenora Community Street Crime Units (CSCU), and Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), with assistance from the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS), executed a search warrant at a residence in Sioux Lookout.
“The investigation has resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of suspected illicit substances including cocaine and oxycodone. Canadian currency and items associated with drug trafficking were also seized.”
As a result of the investigation by police, Isaiah Green, 24-years-old, of Toronto, has been charged under the Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Opioid
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
- Failure to Comply with Probation Order
Also, as a result of the police investigation, Kristy Anishinabe, 29-years-old, of Sioux Lookout, has been charged under the CC and CDSA with:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Opioid
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
The accused were remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sioux Lookout at a later date.
