Drug trafficking charges laid in Sioux Lookout

Two local residents have been arrested and charged with drug trafficking offenses after Sioux Lookout OPP officers responded to a call for assistance at a local hotel on June 12.
Police shared in a June 14 media release that, “At approximately 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, officers received a call for assistance at a local hotel. While responding, they located two individuals breaching court orders. Following investigation, police have seized suspected illicit substances including methamphetamine and cocaine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and Canadian currency.”
As a result of this investigation, a 20 year-old resident and 24-year-old resident, both from the Municipality of Sioux Lookout, have been charged with:
• Possession of a Schedule substance for the purpose of trafficking, and
• Failure to comply with Release Order- two counts.
The 24-year-old resident also faces the following additional charges:
• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime,
• Obstruct Peace Officer.
