Faceless Dolls Project
The Sunset Women’s Aboriginal Circle (SWAC) took part in faceless doll creation on April 18 to represent and honour murdered and missing Indigenous women and girls.
The Native Women’s Association of Canada shared, “The NWAC’s Faceless Doll Project is a collection of faceless felt dolls that will be used to create a traveling art exhibit in memory of the more than 600 missing and murdered Aboriginal women and girls in Canada…We are grateful and humbled that organizations and individuals are making their own faceless dolls in tribute and in solidarity.”
Candi Edwards, a representative at SWAC, shared that their faceless dolls will be used for displays during local events such as Sisters in Spirit, Take Back the Night, and Shine the Light.
