Fall Family Day
Camp of the Woods hosted their Fall Family Day last Saturday, inviting people from the surrounding area to visit them for a day of fun.
Food, face painting, carnival games, hayrides, bouncy castles, and archery were just some of the activities going on at the free event. Even a few local vendors attended with their wares.
Camp Director Johnnie Bates said Camp of the Woods has been inviting people out for Fall Family Day for approximately 16 years.
“Just promoting family get-togethers, enjoying some outdoor time, the community coming together, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, surrounding area. We have the facility, so we want to make use of it. Just another opportunity to get people out here,” he said.
Bates added, “It’s gone really well. Our camps this summer were well attended and we’ve got quite a turnout today. We even made it a little longer today, usually we go from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., but today we went from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and we invited out some people to set up their tables.”
