Fireworks light up the sky on Canada Day

Community members packed the newly opened Town Beach on July 1 to view Sioux Lookout’s first Canada Day fireworks show in two years.
Sponsored by the Sioux Lookout Lions Club and set off by the Sioux Lookout Fire Service, the fireworks show earned applause and shouts of admiration from the gathered crowd.
Sioux Lookout Lions Club Secretary Lisa Larsh shared following the show, “We’d like to thank everyone that helped Canada Day come together in a relatively short amount of time - the Fire Department, the Municipality staff and our “Friends of Lions” volunteers. We’d also like to thank those that donated to support the fireworks over the past two years. The opening of the town beach for July 1st allowed the community to come together to celebrate for the first time in two years and the excitement was palpable! We thank everyone that came out to watch the fireworks and those that supported our concession stand. We were grateful for the opportunity to actually do this, and we look forward to future Canada Day festivities in the years to come.”
