Life Savers
THE LOCAL DETATCHMENT of the OPP held their annual CPR course at the Confederation College building in the Pine Tree Trailer Park. OPP officers from Sioux Lookout and surrounding area took part in the day-long class. “Our most important mandate is to protect and save lives - if we get there before the ambulance we have to be prepared,” said Community Relations Officer Mark Maeers. Maeers conducts the Level E CPR course with fellow officer Ted Bolton from Dryden.

Circle Strong in Sioux
THE SUNSET INN was host to a conference on Canada’s Constitution on Tuesday. The First Nations Circle on the Constitution is a committee, commissioned by the Assembly of First Nations to travel the country to meet with people to discuss what the constitution should say about First Nations. “We are mandated to find out what the people’s views are on the constitution. What do they feel is important, what should leaders be looking for in the constitution”.
