2004 municipal operating budget approved by council
Sioux Lookout council approved the 2004 operating budget, with councillors praising those on the finance committee for a job well done in the face of a difficult task.

At least 500 pounds of garbage from Sioux Lookout streets, alleyways, parks, beaches, trails and Water Tower Hill, has been collected over a nine day period by the recipients of services provided by the Out of the Cold program.

Open house for Hudson Land Development Study
“Hudson has been trying to get new land created probably since 1989,” according to Sioux Lookout Mayor Cathy Kiepek. “At that time we were working with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs,” she said, adding, “We did a needs assessment for Municipal Affairs and identified six lots that could be released.

Controlled burn
Employees of CN Rail conducted a controlled burn on the grassy portions of their property. CN Track Supervisor Robert Drake aid the railway obtained permission from the Municipality to conduct the burn and CN employees used shovels and water tanks worn on their backs to control the burn.
