Work continues to update Municipal Plan
The Municipality of Sioux Lookout continues to work to update its official plan and zoning bylaw. At a special meeting of council last week a consultant from FoTenn Planning and Urban Design, the consulting firm working on updating the municipality’s official plan, represented council with updates to the plan and key changes that have been made such as those dealing with secondary dwelling units, tourist commercial designation, and environmental features and developing constraints.

Lac Seul First Nation signs partnership agreements
“We’re hoping this will show the region that we want to be full and equal participants in the region economy. We’re a progressive community, open to partnerships. We’re not against development in our territory and we want to be able to benefit from development within our traditional territory,” stated Lac Seul First Nation General Manager of Economic Development Sam Manitowabi of two recent partnerships the First Nation has entered into.
