Shelter board members take to the street to raise money

Facing an urgent need for financing, the Out of the Cold shelter tried a new method of fundraising June 15. Roy Dedon and Aileen Urquhart, board members, pledged to spend a day on the streets to raise money toward the $50,000 required by the shelter.

SLMHC enhances breast screening with provincial program

Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) has aligned itself with the Ontario Breast Screen Program (OBSP), a province-wide, organized breast screening program, a partnership that will enhance existing screening services.  The collaboration rolled out in late May with SLMHC and Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) staff celebrating the official launch June 13.
