Garnet Angeconeb awarded Diamond Jubilee Medal
Longtime Sioux Lookout resident Garnet Angeconeb was presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal on June 21, National Aboriginal Day. The Canadian medal honours significant contributions and achievements by Canadians.

Sioux Lookout, Lac Seul, Slate Falls sign historic accord
Rays of sunlight broke through the rain as Sioux Lookout Mayor Dennis Leney and Lac Seul Chief Clifford Bull signed a friendship accord among Sioux Lookout, Lac Seul First Nation, and Slate Falls First Nation on June 21. The occasion fell on National Aboriginal Day, and was part of a celebratory afternoon on Front Street.

Last week’s Bearskin Airlines Charity Golf Classic raised $42,000 for the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre and the Sioux Lookout Golf and Curling Club.
