Not guilty judgement in McFee’s smoking charge
The latest judgement handed down in Ontario Court of Justice proceedings has the Municipality of Sioux Lookout taking its smoking by-law back to the drawing board. The Municipality has charged three businesses with being in violation of its smoking bylaw.

First Family Safety Night held in Sioux Lookout
It was probably the safest place to be in Sioux Lookout Thursday evening. Admission was free at the Sioux Lookout Memorial Arena where an event was held that included information on water, fire, and travel safety, occupational hazards, health care, playground safety, family safety, sun safety, nuisance bear information, as well as a car seat and booster seat clinic.

Lac Seul Band continues to form Forest Management Plan
Using GIS satellite imagery and the knowledge of a botanist will be part of Lac Seul Band’s strategy in forming their Forest Management Plan (FMP).

Evening of Entertainment
Alfred McLeod playing the guitar and singing, Geraldine Guilfoyle reading poetry and performances by the Sioux Lookout band YXL (above, from left, Tony Kay, Brad Mesich, Doug Vinkle and Paul Matousek) were all part of a coffee house Friday evening at the Multicultural Youth Centre. The venue provided an open mic to sing, play musical instruments, read poetry and tell stories in a casual atmosphere. Admission to the Coffee House was free, but those in attendance were encouraged to make a donation with proceeds from the evening going to the Sioux Lookout Youth Council and Youth Centre.
