Municipal council approves budget, strategic plan

A small tax increase for Sioux Lookout residents is in the works. On March 8, Sioux Lookout Municipal Council approved its 2012 operating and capital budgets, as well as its revamped 2012-2016 strategic plan.

Sioux Lookout delegation gets face to face with ministries

Long term care beds and wood tenure were priority items for Sioux Lookout delegates at this year’s Ontario Good Roads Association/Rural Ontario Municipal Association (OGRA/ROMA) Conference in Toronto February 26-29. Mayor Dennis Leney, Councillor Cal Southall and Interim Chief Administrative Officer Arie Hoogenboom attended and raised issues important to the community and advocated on behalf of local residents during meetings with provincial ministers and their designates.

Fun in the sun

Sioux Lookout residents took advantage of the weekend’s warm weather to get out and have fun in a variety of ways. The warm weather is expected to continue throughout March Break week.
