Hudson mill workers win wage increase, lose paid lunch
Members of the IWA Local 2693, the union representing McKenzie Forest Products workers in Hudson, voted last Friday 69 per cent in favour of ratifying a five-year agreement to work 10 hours a day to a maximum of 120 hours over three weeks, and some weekends.

Kicking off the 22 community provincial campaign against for-profit health care in Sioux Lookout Sept. 30, Maude Barlow said the aim of the public meeting that evening at the Sunset Inn was “to challenge the people of this area to get involved in the fight to save medicare.”
