“Come out, meet the staff, say hi, and find out what we do.” That, according to Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry (NDMNRF) Resource Liaison Specialist, Natalie Popovic, summed up a meet and greet event local NDMNRF staff held on August 6 outside their office in Sioux Lookout.
“After a long COVID year, we hadn’t seen a lot of the public, our normal clientele, our office has been closed, people have been working from home, so this is a really good chance to make face with the public and let them know that we’re still here, our services haven’t changed, we’ve had a big changeover in staff in the last year, so we wanted people to know who we are, what we do and that even though there has been a ministry change, we haven’t changed,” she said.
A steady stream of people attended the event, which included a kid’s fishing pond, information about NDMNRF services, bear awareness information and door prizes.
