“Great turnout” for 2SLGBTQIA+ Pride Parade

Community members and visitors to town were invited to show their support on August 5 and join 2SLGBTQIA+ community members for a parade through Sioux Lookout’s downtown, from the Municipal Office to Farlinger Park (Town Beach).
Amey Letere is a members of Queers in Sioux Lookout Whistle Planning Committee, the group which organized the 2SLGBTQIA+ Pride Parade and a Queer Social Night n August 4.
Letere said, “The committee is very happy how everything turned out. We had a great turnout for both events. We are really happy to see the community coming together to show their pride. Lots of Queer folks but also lots of allies out, really nice to see that. We appreciate everybody that participated and contributied.”
Sioux Lookout OPP brought a vehicle to the Town Beach for kids and adults to paint as part of the August 5 event.
Auxiliary Staff Sergent Dean Osmond commented, “This has been a very successful event…The kids have really enjoyed coming over and even had adults come over and paint the cruiser.”
The Sioux Lookout Golf and Curling Club hosted the Mixed Blueberry Open Golf Tournament on August 6, with 15 teams participating...
