House fire in Frenchman’s Head

Lac Seul First Nation Chief and Council are sharing that everyone was safely evacuated after a house fire was reported at 57 Frenchman’s Head Road last Friday at approximately 10 a.m. 

Chief and council communicated the news via an “Important Notice”, which was posted on the Facebook page Lac Seul Community News & Events.

Lac Seul Fire responded to the fire, receiving assistance from both Hudson and Sioux Lookout fire halls.

Due to its proximity to the house fire, Obishikokaang Elementary School was put under hold and secure.

Due to air quality concerns, both the Band office and Frenchman’s Head Clinic were closed.

Hydro One was called in to deal with live wires.
