Hudson man charged following investigation by OPP, LSPS

A 41-year-old Hudson man is facing drug trafficking charges following what police describe as a domestic dispute.
According to police, “On Saturday night, May 9th, 2020, officers from the Sioux Lookout OPP and LSPS responded to a report of an attempted abduction in the community of Hudson.”
The OPP news release continued, “The vehicle involved was located and the driver arrested. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine with a street value of over $8,000, approximately $1,500 in Canadian Currency, and other drug-trade paraphernalia.”
Members of the Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) working in partnership with the Lac Seul Police Service (LSPS) have laid the following charges against Shaun Gibson:
• Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
• Possession of Property Obtained By Crime, Under $5,000, Contrary to Section 355(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused is to appear in the Sioux Lookout Ontario Court of Justice on July 14 to answer to the charges, none of which have been proven in court.
