Lac Seul Police Service lay charges in multiple investigations

A busy week last week for members of the Lac Seul Police Service (LSPS).
The police service shared in an Oct. 22 media release that, “On Thursday October 21, 2021, at 10:08 p.m., the Lac Seul Police Service and EMS were dispatched to a disturbance on Kettle Heights Drive in Kejick Bay, Ontario. Multiple people were assaulted by a female using a plumbing fixture. The LSPS attended and located the female suspect who was arrested."
As a result of this investigation LSPS charged a 26-year-old Kejick Bay resident with:
1) Assault with a Weapon- 267(a) of the Criminal Code
2) Assault with a Weapon- 267(a) of the Criminal Code
3) Assault with a Weapon- 267(a) of the Criminal Code
4) Uttering Threat to Cause Death- 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
The accused was released from custody on a Release Order and will appear in Lac Seul First Nation Court on November 24, 2021, to answer to the charges.
In an Oct. 21 media release, LSPS shared that, “On Saturday October 16, 2021, at approximately 5:03 a.m., an Off-Duty Officer from the Lac Seul Police Service located a vehicle that drove off the roadway in Frenchman’s Head. The Officer approached the vehicle to check on the driver. The driver was not injured and was found to be impaired by alcohol. The investigation further revealed the motor vehicle was stolen."
A 43-year-old Kejick Bay resident was arrested and charged with:
1. Operation while Impaired by Alcohol- 320.14(1)(a) CC
2. Operation while Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) - 320.14(1)(b) CC
3. Possession of Stolen Property- 354(1)(a) CC
The accused was released from custody and will appear in Lac Seul First Nation Court on November 24, 2021, to answer to the charges.
LSPS asks that if people suspect someone is driving drunk or high, call 911 immediately.
In an Oct. 20 news release, LSPS shared that, “In late September 2021, the Lac Seul Police Service (LSPS) received a letter from a female claiming to be doing a research project for the University of Toronto Dept. Of Biochemistry.
“The Lac Seul Police Service in partnership with the University of Toronto Campus Police conducted an investigation into this letter. The letter was determined to be fabricated and not authentic.”
On Oct. 19, a 41-year-old resident of Lac Seul First Nation was arrested & charged with the following:
1. Make Forged Document- 367 of the Criminal Code
2. Use Forged Document- 368(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
The accused was released from custody and will appear in Lac Seul First Nation Court on November 24, 2021, to answer to the charges.
