Learning to grow traditional medicines
Community members had the opportunity to learn about, and practice, growing medicines during a workshop hosted by Equay-Wuk (Women’s Group) at the Nishnawbe-Gamik Friendship Centre on April 30. The workshop featured teachings from Tom Chisel and Simon Head. Head, who was with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit for 18 years and has over 15 years of Ojibwa-Anishinaabeg ceremonial tobacco growing experience, led hands-on workshops for participants during the workshop.
