2023 Jack McKenzie volunteer of the year award

I was delighted to see Charron Sippola recognized and receive the Jack McKenzie Volunteer Award at the Blueberry Festival opening ceremonies this year. 
Her volunteer list is quite extensive. I would like to remind our community of the work Charron and Ruth Coughlin, through their involvement with the Horticultural Society, encouraged the whole community (when necessary providing paint) to turn the fire hydrants into works of art.
Who could forget Sylvester The Cat (standup) outside Mr. Sylvester’s house and the hydrant on the opposite corner of Wellington/Fourth painted as Tweety Bird or Friar Tuck (the monk) at the hydrant at Sacred Heart Church or the Dog with a bone in its mouth at the corner of King and Third.
