The Road Not Taken

Last week, I was travelling to Sioux Lookout via the Hudson Ice Road with my father as he was driving on the Ice Road to do grocery shopping & visit the shops. As I noticed the cut in travel distance by the ice road, as the traditional route would take us 40 mins by truck, the new way would only take us 20 mins by the ice road. But I thought about an idea where a bridge spanning the length of Lost Lake via Frenchman’s Head to Hudson would reduce the distance even more, thus saving both time and money. I estimated that a bridge would reduce the length by 25%. I saw my friend Tom from QEDHS at the Esso Station, who was busy fueling the truck.
