Letter To The Editor:
To Join or not to Join? That is the question.
In Sioux Lookout we have many amazing and diverse clubs, groups and organizations.
Being human, not all groups appeal to everyone BUT, living in a small community it is good to know that these organizations can still be supported financially by purchasing a membership.
The Sioux Area Seniors Activity Centre (SASAC) is an organization that caters to the 50+ demographic of our community. We host a variety of activities, events and programs. Socializing with a cup of coffee during the day, playing cards on a Friday night, or participating in a Tai Chi weekend are just a few.
Many people of this age range are still working so daytime activities may not work for you. We have evening and weekend events planned as well.
We know that people join our centre for a variety of reasons and that some of our events don’t appeal to all. That is totally OK. We want to be welcoming and inclusive. We do not want to exclude anyone’s interests or passions.
The more new members we get, the more voices and choices we can have.
Our next upcoming event is a MEMBERS ONLY Fish Fry at the Centre on Sunday June 23rd.
June is Seniors Month. If you would like to purchase a membership ($20.00), the Centre is open every morning or you can contact me at [email protected].
Please consider supporting our Centre with a membership.
Sincerely
Anne Saltel
