Letter to the Editor:
To the Community of Sioux Lookout
As a resident of Sioux Lookout, I am starting to believe this town has luck attached to it. It’s been over 54 years since we last had a forest fire that almost ravaged our town, but perhaps this town is protected from such disasters by the spirit of our community. Last Wednesday, a severe storm hit this community, and the community withstood the storm without loss of life. The only thing that could snatch away this spirit is an act of God or some obscene calamity of man. Sioux Lookout shall never recede into the wilderness.
We are here to stay and prosper. This town has lived through challenging times in recent history, but we must not be defeated by nature. I suggest renaming Sioux Lookout to “Hub of the North”. I suggest renaming Sioux Lookout as something more meaningful. For instance, the Hub of the North.
