Lil Bands Native Youth Hockey Tournament Results
Thirty-two teams competed in the 21st Lil Bands Native Youth Hockey Tournament, which ran from Jan. 29 – Feb. 4 at the Dryden Memorial Arena.
Ziggy Beardy, media spokesperson and one of the tournament’s organizers, said over 100 hockey games were played over the course of the week.
“It went really well wit the 30 plus teams that we had,” he said.
Beardy said the tournament, attended by First Nations youth from across northern Ontario, is something looked forward to each year.
The state of the winter roads and expense of attending a week-long tournament had an impact on the number of teams attending this year, Beardy informed.
