Lions Club donation
To mark the Canadian Lions centennial, Sioux Lookout Lions Club has donated a bench to the municipality, which has been placed at the Travel Information Centre.
Sioux Lookout Lions Club President Chris Larsh said, “We wanted something permanent and we wanted something in a high visibility area, and something that people would appreciate, and when you look around here, there are a few picnic tables. But this can be a very high traffic area, on a nice day, and so adding a bench here and maybe another one in the future, it just helps. It adds pieces to a park that needed places for people to sit.”
The bench is located beside the children’s play area at the Travel Information Centre. With the Canadian Lions Club established in 1921, Larsh said that this bench marks 100 years of the club’s existence. Sioux Lookout Lions Club plans to add signage to this bench at a later date.
