LSPS Report:
Traffic Stop Results in Large Drug Seizure

On Monday June 24, 2019 at approximately 3:00 pm, the Lac Seul Police Service (LSPS) observed a suspicious vehicle driving in the community of Frenchman’s Head. Police conducted a traffic stop which resulted in a drug investigation with two males being arrested. The LSPS seized a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $35,800.
As a result of this investigation the LSPS have charged the following;
Steven Cummings (36 years) from Curve Lake Ontario is charged with:
1) Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking 5(2) CDSA
2) Possession of Methamphetamine 4(1) CDSA
3) Fail to Comply with Recognizance 145(3) CC
4) Possession of Weapons Dangerous 88 CC
5) Driving while Prohibited 320.18 CC
6) Use Plates not Authorized 12(1)(d) HTA
7) Use Plates not Authorized 12(1)(d) HTA
8) Driving without a Licence 32(1) HTA
9) Operating Unsafe Vehicle 84 HTA
10) Operating without Insurance 2(1)(a) CAIA
Mark Major (30 years) from Kenora Ontario is charged with:
1) Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking 5(2) CDSA
2) Possession of Methamphetamine 4(1) CDSA
3) Fail to Comply with Undertaking 145(3) CC
4) Fail to Comply with Undertaking 145(3) CC
5) Possession of Weapons Dangerous 88 CC
6) Personation with Intent 403(1)(d) CC
7) Obstructing Police 129(a) CC
8) Resist Peace Officer 129(a) CC
9) Resist Peace Officer 129(a) CC
10) Resist Peace Officer 129(a) CC
11) Resist Peace Officer 129(a) CC
12) Resist Peace Officer 129(a) CC
Both Steven Cummings and Mark Major were held for a bail hearing in Sioux Lookout Court on June 25, 2019.
