Lorenda Hanze (Perkins)

May 9, 1945 - April 2, 2022

It is with great sadness that the Nymark family announces the passing of their dear mother, Lorenda Hanze (formerly Geraldine Perkins) of Sioux Lookout after a brief illness. Lorenda was predeceased by her parents Richard (Perky) and Helen Perkins.

She is survived by her sons Gary Nymark (Corrie) of Calgary, Rory Nymark (Sally) of Port Moody, B.C., Cory Nymark of Thunder Bay; sisters Sally Perkins (Bill Crowe) and Dorothy Young (Peter) of Ottawa, ON and brother Richard Perkins of Edmonton; grandchildren Devon, Brandon, Alexandra, Solomon, Isaac, Faith, Delaney, Holden and Cory Jr., and great grandsons Teodor and Conner Singleton; nephews and niece.

Lorenda’s passion was cooking and her greatest joy was sharing it with others. We will miss her great cabbage rolls, her generous heart and her most infectious laughter. 

We would like to give special thanks to her granddaughter Faith who devotedly supported her and her dear friends Ralph Ireland and Ifka Filipovich as well as friends Donna Tilberg, Pat Anderson, Collen and Irene Dekelver; Barry, Salvi and staff at Sioux Towers.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the medical team at Meno Ya Win Health Center for providing care and comfort.
