Marg’s children Michael, Jane and Tony, Grandchildren Stephanie, Kristin, Jill, Michael J, Peter, Randy, Jordan, Jade and Haley, along with her Great Grandchildren will take pleasure in all the memories she created for them.
Marg also leaves behind her sister Bunny and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
Marg was born in Stonewall Manitoba on February 10, 1931. She attended Grade School in Stonewall and Post Secondary school in Winnipeg. She and her family moved to Sioux Lookout in 1965, where se began her career with the Federal Public Service. At the age of 65 Marg retired after a rewarding career of 35 years.
During her years in Sioux Lookout, Marg was active in curling and was known for her skill on the ice. She shared in many good times participating in Bonspiels in Sioux Lookout and surrounding communities. She was dedicated to the local Legion Branch #78 holding various positions on both the Men’s and Ladies’ Executive. Marg also put her time in cooking at the Legion for many Weddings, Christmas Parties, Reunions, Teas, and other events. She was always quick to volunteer and take the lead for BINGO and other charitable initiatives.
In later years Marg relocated to Brandon, Manitoba where she reunited with her best friend Eveyln Crawford. She had many good years in Brandon and travelled to Sioux Lookout frequently to enjoy holidays, go fishing and see her children and grandchildren.
Eventually she returned to Sioux Lookout to live for a short time before her health required more care than could be secured locally. Marg lived her final years in Winnipeg under Supportive Living and Long-Term Care environments.
She passed peacefully with family by her side.
At this time, the family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the kind words and support received from friends and family near and far during this difficult time.
We also want to recognize the Nursing, Clinical, Environmental, Social and Administrative staff at Riverview Health Centre. Who, provided us with comfort knowing that Marg always received professional and dignified care.
If friends so desire donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, in Marg’s memory, 10-120 Donald St, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9
