Memories & Celebrations of Life
Obituary - Marguerite Sinclair
March 14, 1932 - Febuary 15, 2019
Marguerite was promoted to her Heavenly home one month short of her 87th birthday and 2 days after what would have been her 65th Wedding Anniversary, on Friday Febuary 15, 2019 in Sioux Lookout, Ontario at Bill George Extended Care with her family close by.
She was born in St. Boniface, MB on March 14, 1932 and was the youngest of 3 girls. By 9 years of age, she was bilingual in French and English. She met her husband to be at 16 and as newlyweds at 21, she and Alex honeymooned in Toronto. They never left after securing long term employment working on the new Subway system. Over the years, they travelled extensively to destinations like Israel, England, Scotland, Hawaii.
She is survived by her 3 children, Mary Anne (Dan),Sioux Lookout, Louise (Maurice) Sioux Lookout, Peter (Christine),Oakville and 3 grandchildren; Alex (Raph), Olivia and Graeme and predeceased by her husband Alex of 50 years. After 50 years of marriage, she found herself alone after the passing of Alex to cancer in 2004.
The last 15 years were difficult years adjusting to a single life. Yet it was in these years she drew closer to the Lord and her comfort from Him grew stronger. She also kept busy volunteering and sharing her faith at a Food Bank and soup kitchen.
She loved and prayed for her family members constantly. What we as a family will miss the most is the prayer cover she provided for all her children, their spouses and grandchildren. “First thing in the morning and last thing at night” she would petition God for us.
There was a beautiful Celebration of her life at New Life Assembly on Family Day, Feb 18, 2019. Burial was held a few days later in Toronto where her body was laid to rest next to her husband.
In memory of our Mother /Grandmother, instead of flowers or donations, please be kind to someone, tell someone they are important, listen to what they have to say, and encourage them. She would like that better than flowers or money!
