This year’s Miss & Mr. Online Blueberry Pageant is in the books and winners have been selected.
Twenty participants competed in the contest, which was held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Once registered, organizers said a post was created for each contestant on the pageant’s Facebook page, featuring their bio and photos.
Contestants were also invited to submit a talent video, which was hosted on the event’s website.
This year’s winners
were:
Miss Blueberry 2020 - Nevaeh Johnup
Mr. Blueberry 2020 - Avery Michael Day
Best Dressed - Aubrey Perreault-Linklater
Most Talented - Aliya Johnup
Best Smile - Avery Michael Day
Most Photogenic - Avery Michael Day
“Voting for the title awards (Miss Blueberry, Mr. Blueberry) was done by people writing "vote" in the comments section of the contestant of their choice on the main event page.
“Side Awards (Most Talented Video, Best Dressed, Best Smile and Most Photogenic) were done using polls, with people being allowed to vote for as many contestants as they wanted,” shared pageant director Jaymee Bent.
“There were a few hiccups here and there, but it basically ended up being a success,” Bent said, adding, “It was great to be able to offer something fun online that was open to anyone of any age and gender, and also to be a part of the Blueberry Festival again!”
“Thank you for all the support the pageant has received both last year and this year. The Miss and Mr. Blueberry Pageant was created as a fun way for children, teens and adults to showcase their fashion sense, talents and speaking skills. We are big supporters of self-confidence and self-esteem and hope that every contestant realizes just how special they really are. If each contestant takes something positive away with their experience in our pageant, then that makes it all worthwhile. We will be back again next year, bigger and better than ever,” Bent concluded.
