Motorists reminded to drive to conditions this winter

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Sioux Lookout are reminding motorists to slow down and drive according to road conditions.

Police shared in a news release last Thursday evening, “The OPP has responded to a number of motor vehicle collisions in the past 24 hours. Some of the collisions were due to motorists driving too quickly for icy road conditions while many others were due to wildlife on the roads.”

Police also encouraged motorists to check the MTO website, http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/ontario-511/winter-road-conditions.shtml, before venturing out.
