Municipality provides update on Waterfront Development Project

The Municipality of Sioux Lookout is on track to complete its Waterfront Development Project at Farlinger Park (the town beach) by Nov. 30.
The project needs to be completed by Dec. 31 to meet funding requirements.
“We are presently working on the subsurface infrastructure: installation of electrical conduct and plumbing for the structures. Additionally, building foundations are being formed and the installation of the biosparge system is in progress (this is the system approved by the environmental and health regulatory authorities to address the appearance of sheen on the beach)” the Municipality shared with The Bulletin.
Construction of buildings, paving, and site finishing (items such as the boardwalk and play area) still need to be completed.
The Municipality shared its expected completion date for the project could be extended slightly to accommodate potential delays due to weather or other factors.
Farlinger Park is anticipated to officially reopen in the spring.
