The Municipality of Sioux Lookout shared the COVID-19 outbreak hasn’t slowed down the Facilities Division.
The Municipality said the Facilities Division have been managing the delivery of cleaning supplies, guaranteeing continued janitorial functions, as well as securing PPE (personal protective equipment) for frontline staff.
“The Municipality’s Facilities Division has been very busy during the COVID-19 period. In addition to managing and overseeing the provision of cleaning supplies and equipment for the Corporation to ensure all janitorial functions are maintained during this time, as well as arranging for additional cleaning, the Facilities team has been working hard to secure personal protective equipment for various frontline staff upon their return to work (personal hand sanitizers, etc.),” said Brian MacKinnon, Sioux Lookout Municipal Clerk.
The Municipality said the closure of its facilities during COVID-19 has allowed for repairs and maintenance to occur throughout the day.
“The various repairs and maintenance to our facilities occurs in a routine manner, in conjunction with best practices for asset management. The closure of various Municipal facilities to the public has enabled some repairs and maintenance to occur during the regular work day, when it would otherwise be scheduled for evenings or weekends,” said MacKinnon.
