New signage, which graces the front of the Sioux Lookout Travel Information Centre, was officially unveiled last week.
The Travel Information Centre is run year-round through a partnership between The Municipality of Sioux Lookout, The Sioux Lookout Chamber of Commerce and The Sioux Lookout Blueberry Festival.
“We discussed redoing the signs on the front of the building about a year ago,” explained Christine Hoey, who represents both the Chamber and Blueberry Festival.
Wanting to have the new signage created by a local business, Sam Hildebrand, owner-operator of Sam’s Fabrication, was approached.
“So we contacted him,” Hoey said. “Throughout the winter we went back and forth about what would they be like.”
Hoey commented of the new metal signs, “They’ll last forever and they’ll look unique… We just wanted to have very professional looking signs that were unique in the community. They do and we’re really proud of them.”
