Notice of partial office closure
The Sioux Lookout Bulletin
To our valued readers and advertisers, with the emergence and global spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) we are living in uncertain times.
Schools have been asked to close, along with recreation and entertainment venues. Some types of businesses have been asked to close as well. Things are changing around us on a daily, if not an hourly basis.
The Governments of Canada and Ontario, as well as the Northwestern Health Unit are encouraging social distancing and everyday actions people can take to stay healthy and reduce their exposure to the virus.
Until further notice, The Sioux Lookout Bulletin has made the difficult decision to partially close our office to the public.
You may not see our reporting staff out in the community as often for the time being, however rest assured we are, and will continue to be hard at work keeping our readers up to date on the latest COVID-19 developments as well as other news happening in the community.
We are asking at this time that people engage with us by email and telephone whenever possible for news interviews, advertising and passing along news tips.
We will be offering special advertising options to our customers at this time, as well as hosting a list of cancellations and closures.
Our newspapers will continue to be available around town and flown to remote northern communities unless we are told differently. News and advertising will continue to be made available online at www.siouxbulletin.com, so people can stay up to date wherever they may be. We are continually providing COVID-19 updates through our social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @siouxbulletin.
If people do need to stop in and visit us to pick up a newspaper, make a payment, or leave us a message, we are open and have instituted measures such as wiping down and disinfecting our point of sale device after each use, and asking any staff who may feel unwell to stay home.
We encourage people to use the following resources to stay healthy during this time:
