The Northwestern Health Unit reported a new positive COVID-19 case in the Sioux Lookout area through social media on the afternoon of July 25.
The health unit shared that it has followed up with the person involved and contact tracing is underway.
The health unit also informed, “Anyone who is identified as a contact for this case will be contacted directly.”
On July 26, Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority Public Health Physician Dr. John Guilfoyle shared, “It’s not somebody who’s had any contact with those of you who live in the communities (served by SLFNHA).”
He added that the case is doing quite well.
NWHU stated on social media, “We recommend that everyone assume COVID-19 is in their community and practice preventive measures like physical distancing, wearing a mask when physical distancing is not possible, good hand hygiene, and not touching their face.”
