OPP lay assault charges

A 25-year-old individual from Kasabonika Lake First Nation is facing multiple charges after Sioux Lookout OPP members were flagged down and advised of a disturbance on Jan. 12 at approximately 9:15 p.m.
The accused allegedly assaulted another individual. Police say in a Jan. 14 media release that the accused was located and arrested. Police also say that during the arrest, the accused attempted to resist and assaulted an officer.
As a result, the 25-year-old individual has been charged with:
- Assault with intent to resist arrest
- Assault
- Failure to comply with release order - five counts
The accused was held for bail and remanded to the Kenora District Jail.
