Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will be hiring Special Constables to work as Court Officers out of the local police detachment.
Special Constables are employees who have been given limited peace officer powers by the OPP Commissioner for court-related duties. Court Officers play an essential role in maintaining the court process, by managing detachment court case files and monitoring their progress through the court system. Special Constables also provide liaison services with the court, provide court security services, and participate in offender escorts.
The available positions require applicants to hold a class G Ontario driver’s license, pass an OPP background security investigation, attain and maintain Special Constable Status, and pass and maintain ongoing certification in Use of Force.
