OPTA Poker Derby
The Ojibway Power Toboggan Association (OPTA) held its annual Poker Derby last Saturday. Snowmobile club president Les Cosco said the turnout for the event was excellent, with more than 90 riders taking part. A social at the Legion followed the Poker Derby. Taking first place in this year’s Poker Derby, with a full house, was Emily Morin, who won $936. Coming in second, with three of a kind (queens), was Corine Meijaard, who won $624. Finishing third, with three of a kind (4s), was Joe Cook, who won $312. The annual event is a fundraiser for the snowmobile club.
