PFFNHS celebrates students’ academic, athletic success

Pelican Falls First Nations High School (PFFNHS) celebrated the academic and athletic accomplishments of its students this past school year with a special awards ceremony on April 27.
Principal Darrin Head summarized, “On the evening of April 27, PFFNHS celebrated our first full student body Prom and Awards night since our school closed in March of 2019, due to the pandemic. Our evening began with some mocktails in the school foyer, followed by a catered meal by Crooked Arrow Catering. We then recognized our academic and athletic awards winners. The evening finished up with a dance hosted by DJ, Stye Quequish.”
Head shared, “It was fantastic to see all the smiling faces of both our students and our staff as we celebrated the many great academic and athletic accomplishments of our students this school year. “Both students and staff spent many hours getting the gym decorated and ready for the big night. It’s on occasions like these that I have the privilege of witnessing the special connection that our staff and students share with each other at PFFNHS. Our staff went to great lengths to ensure each of our students had access to formal wear for the big occasion and it was amazing to see our students all dressed up and beaming with pride. A big shout out to PFFNHS teacher Melanie Shine for making sure that each of our students had that opportunity. It was an enormous task but they pulled it off beautifully.
“Congratulations to all our award winners! It’s been a pleasure watching you grow and flourish this year!”
