PFFNHS, SNHS honoring student success

Pelican Falls First Nations High School (PFFNHS) and Sioux North High School (SNHS) have both released their list of Honour Roll students. While achieving success as a student can be a challenge at the best of times, doing so in the midst of a pandemic, with all of the disruptions and stresses which that entails, makes their accomplishment that much more impressive.
As PFFNHS Principal Darrin Head expressed, this year’s Honour Roll students have accomplished no small feat, stating, “Pelican Falls First Nations High School is extremely proud of our Honour Roll students. Your commitment to learning though the challenges of this pandemic is truly inspirational. The strength you are exhibiting while learning during this pandemic will help you build the future you want for yourselves and your families. Pelican Falls First Nations High School thanks our parents and guardians, our communities, our partner organizations and our staff for your ongoing support of our students through these challenging times.”
At PFFNHS, the Honors list is divided into two categories. Students on the Honour Roll have grades of 80-89 percent, while the Principal’s Roll represents students who achieved grades of 90 percent and up.
Honour Roll students for Pelican Falls First Nations High School were: Nicole Wassaykeesic, Trinity Moose, Tyrell Bottle, Trisha Meekis, Harmony Moose, Kaydia Okemow and Regan Boyce.
Principal’s Roll students for Pelican Falls First Nations High School were: Briere Bottle, Thunder Okeese, Christian Mamakwa-Suggashie, Shadow Meekis, Juelz Meekis, Sasha Kakekayash, Tiannah Hudson, and Kaylie Kamenawatamin.
Sioux North High School Principal Darryl Tinney had the following to say on the Sioux North students’ accomplishments. “Sioux North High School is proud to announce our 2020-21 honour roll list. This includes both students from SNHS and students who participated in the virtual school last year. Honour roll for grades 9 and 10 students is based on the average of eight courses. For grade 11 students it is based on the average of their top seven courses and for grade 12 students it is for the average of their top six courses. We want to congratulate each student on this accomplishment, especially with all of the variables that students had to deal with last year. Enjoy this accomplishment and we wish you continued success in the 2021-22 school year! “
