Question of the week:
Are there any reflections you’d like to share on your time in Sioux Lookout through NOSM (Northern Ontario School of Medicine)?

Over the last 8 months I have grown a lot as a professional and a person. This growth wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing community of people in Sioux Lookout, from patients, to teachers, to the family I’ve experienced here. Thank you for your generosity and warmth!

I am going to miss the natural beauty that shines through in this town. I was lucky enough to spend as much time as possible fishing and have met some amazing new life-long friends! I’ll definitely be back this summer for more medicine and more time on the lake.

The best moments we’ve had in Sioux Lookout were spent making new friends, going to social events, craft fairs, showing up to dinner parties, brunches, movie nights, coffee dates, playing in hockey tournaments, watching hockey, ice fishing, walking our dog on the lake, the list goes on. So much gratitude for the people of this community treating us like locals since day one. Cheers to the places and the people of Sioux Lookout, until we meet again!

I am struck by how welcoming this community has been to us as medical students, but also just as new people in the community. We've been invited to more social events than I get invited to in my own hometown. Also, the Friday cinnamon buns at Pelican are the best I've had and I will miss them terribly. Thank you, Sioux Lookout and surrounding communities for an amazing 8 months!
